It Won't Cure His Cancer, But Send 5 Year-Old Danny Nickerson Birthday Cards By July 25, 2014

It’s not the cake, presents or party that gets Danny Nickerson excited for his sixth birthday on July 25 – it’s the cards.
The Foxborough boy diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer last fall has had to stop going to kindergarten, his family tells ABC News. But when he’s feeling lonely, nothing cheers him up like a card with his name on it.
“He can recognize his name now,” mom Carley Nickerson told ABC News. “When he saw his name on the package from magical fairies on Easter, he was so happy.”
Danny Nickerson underwent 33 radiation treatments after his October diagnosis and he’s now getting chemo therapy every two weeks, according to ABC. His doctors say children with his type of cancer rarely live longer than 18 months.
